Galbally Runners Club Notes 27th Jun 2021

Return of Parkrun

A very popular event attended by Galbally Runners is the Saturday morning Parkrun. This free, 5K timed run every Saturday had stopped since March 2020 and restarted much to everyone’s delight last Saturday at 9.30am. Those that ran it included Julie Deery (Personal Best), Éadaoin MCVEIGH, Conáin MCVEIGH, Emer Hand and Martina Duggan at Dungannon. Denise McCann ran the Omagh Parkrun and was first lady home. Well done to all parkrunners and we hope to see a lot of you there again next week with loads of local options from Dungannon Park, MUSA in Cookstown, Omagh and Craigavon Lakes.

Paul Murray 5K Grand Prix Series Week 4

The final round of the Paul Murray 5K was last Friday evening in Eskra. This route proved to be the fastest of all routes with Personal Best again for Fergal O’Donnell with a cracking time of 17:16. Peter Cush cruised home with a time of 19:16 whilst Brendan Woods and Niall McGinty came home with improved times of 19:19 and 22:44. Well done to all the runners who participated in the series and the club sends its thanks to the Knockmany Running Group who organised such a great event.

Miles for Patrick

Some of our runners went out on Sunday to support Killeeshil Runner Leanne McKenna who

embarked on a 40 mile Ultra Marathon to raise funds for the Royal Victoria Hospital ICU &

HDU(Revive) and Anam Cara Bereavement Support in memory of Leanne’s godson Patrick McGinn who died in a tragic accident last year. Well done Leanne. If you would like to donate to this great cause and support Leanne the link is provided here https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8yqWTxtCgu
