Athletics NI launch their new Virtual Primary Schools Run! The Schools Run is a free programme open to all pupils in P5- P7 to celebrate the reopening of schools and to keep pupils active and healthy.
We know that 2020 has been particularly difficult for children, who have had limited access to their favourite sports, so we are encouraging Primary School children across the country to get out and get moving!
Pupils run 1k A Day from Monday 3rd May to Friday 7th May. You can run on any surface, and at any time that suits you. Children can sign up individually, or can be signed up as a class team, to help motivate their classmates.
The benefits of the Virtual Primary Schools Run are:
· It is free to enter
· Needs no equipment
· Can be completed on any surface
· Helps keep children active
· Is open to all children currently in P5-P7
Once pupils have completed their 1k A Day, teachers or parents will submit their names to be entered into a prize draw to win some Athletics NI goodies! All pupils will receive a special Virtual Primary Schools Run certificate upon completion.
Entries opened on Monday 15th March, and you can sign up as an individual, or grab your classmates and sign up as a team. Find out more here: https://athleticsni.org/Fixtures/Virtual/Athletics-NI-Virtual-Primary-Schools-Run
We would ask that all pupils, staff and parents involved keep to the Public Health Agency advice and follow the social distancing guidelines to ensure safety for all. For the latest Athletics NI Coronavirus Advice, please see here: https://athleticsni.org/Coronavirus-Advice
