It’s with sadness that we have to make this post but feel it’s necessary to update all as lots are training and some are making travel arrangements to participate..

Harsh reality is if our race doesn’t soon generate enough entries we will have to no choice but to make the decision to not proceed any further and start issuing refunds ..

A race incorporating north and south with different authorities and regulations comes at a high price compared to other race formats .. examples are 2 sets of insurance is needed for north and south or if 1 company quotes its prices are exceptionally high, 2 sets of first aid cover is needed , 2 sets of Portaloos is regulation , no taking waste across the border we are told , not forgetting the usual event expenses of buses for shuttling , hire of council property race medals and trophies ,Refreshments , chip timing , race signage , prize fund and more .

all the above has always been met by participant's entry fees.

To date, we have 175 entries and we thank u who entered so far but this is compared to 500 entries at this stage last time round.

So medal order will have to go in mid-Sept at the latest and we will use this date to look at entry-level and decide .. we estimate we need over 300 to make this year race feasible and of no personal expense to organisers . If u intended to run our race but haven’t yet signed up nows is the time to do it so we can see where we stand. Worst-case scenario you’ll get a refund and a chance to laugh at was he runs it on race day for now.. thanks for reading .. The Dune team ..
